NRC reiterates that:
- Permits allegedly issued by Al Hol camp authorities wrongly state that implicated drivers worked for NRC. NRC is pursuing the issue of these false permits further with the authorities.
- All our investigations have proved that neither drivers nor trucks allegedly involved were operating on behalf of our organisation, nor any of our contractors.
- NRC has strong procedures in place to ensure that our work adheres to our humanitarian objectives, principles and regulations. We strongly condemn human smuggling.
- NRC will continue to advocate for international responsibility sharing that can bring a durable resolution to the situation for foreign families in detention camps in Syria.
