Strategic Research into the Youth Education Pack (YEP) Model

This paper presents an external review of the Youth Education Pack model, an NRC programme based on three interventions: teaching of literacy and numeracy; training in livelihood skills; and sensitization in various life skills.

The Woman’s Refugee Commission (WRC) performed the external review, consisting of a desk review of 13 countries and 21 programmes and a two-week field mission to conduct focus group discussions. The WRC ultimately cannot answer the main research questions posited by this paper, but makes recommendations on how these questions can be answered in the future.
