This study aimed to capture the views of displaced people on their priorities during, and after, an emergency. The voices of more than 250 children, parents, teachers and community representatives are presented from two locations in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Ethiopia.

The findings underline the importance and value of education vocalised by these two communities. Education provides protection for children, support for other sectors, construction of resilience, transformation of communities, and hope for the future.

This report has been produced by the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) in collaboration with Save the Children UK, with assistance provided by the European Commission.
