Dashed Hopes: Continuation of the Gaza Blockade

NRC|Published 01. Dec 2010

Israel announced plans to ease its decades-long illegal blockade of the Gaza Strip in 2010, though this has since led to little concrete action. This paper is a call for credible and effective action, as well as the reassertion of international pressure, to lift the blockade of the Gaza Stripp - a legal, economic and political imperative for those seeking resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

The illegal blockade continues to negatively impact the lives of 1.5 million Palestinians, half of whom are children. Civilians in Gaza cannot wait until Israeli-Palestinian negotiations are concluded.
