Challenges of IDP Protection: Research study on the protection of internally placed persons in Afghanistan

This report provides a systemic overview of protection of internally displaced persons in Afghanistan by combining the voices of displaced people with an analysis of the decision-making processes responding to internal displacement.

The report shows that internal displacement is not merely a humanitarian problem, but a concern for the development community as well. Recommendations on the national level, to the government of Afghanistan, as well as the international level, to the United Nations and other humanitarian and development actors are offered.

Research for the report was conducted by Samuel Hall Consulting and commissioned by the Norwegian Refugee Council.
