The briefing note presents a summary of key findings and advocacy recommendations highlighting the importance of systematically integrating the land dimension in humanitarian interventions.

This is particularly important in the areas of rehabilitation and construction of infrastructure and supporting tenure security for displacement-affected populations to ensure lasting outcomes and sustainability of investment.

The analysis is based on two studies conducted by NRC between 2025 and early 2026 in eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo on the impact of displacement on land.
