Libya update

The Norwegian Refugee Council’s Country Director in Libya, Dax Roque, reports on the massive destruction and great needs caused by Storm Daniel. At the same time, he thanks all of you who have supported NRC’s emergency response for those affected by the flooding.

Together, we are providing:

  • emergency aid packages and cash
  • tarpaulin, mattresses, carpets, clothing, and hygiene equipment such as sanitary pads, soap, underwear, toothpaste and buckets
  • educational and psychosocial support for children
  • clean water

We are also repairing existing sanitary facilities and improving hygiene conditions.

But this is just the beginning, and we will do much more. We plan to reach 133,295 people affected by the flood, and aim to reach 72,940 of these during November.
