“This is fantastic news. With record numbers of people displaced and global aid being cut, the funds from the telethon are more important than ever," says Cathrine Bøe Gjesti, NRC’s fundraising lead in Norway.

The NRK telethon is the largest information campaign and fundraising event in Norway. It takes place in October every year.

Never before have so many people fled war and conflict, and never before have so many needed assistance to find a home. But there is hope, and there are solutions.

“Building homes for displaced families” is the theme of NRC's application. Never before have so many people fled war and conflict, and never before have so many needed shelter assistance. More than 90 million people affected by crises are in urgent need of shelter – double the number of just four years ago.

“For almost 80 years, the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) has been a way for the Norwegian people to make a difference for displaced people. We are looking forward to joining another national fundraising effort," says Gjesti.
