Stine Paus has been appointed as the new, permanent NORCAP Director.
Paus has served as the interim NORCAP Director since Benedicte Giæver stepped down in August 2026.

A total of 160 highly qualified internal and external candidates competed for the position and the recruitment team consisted of NORCAP’s Head of Strategy and Learning, NRC's Director for People and Organisation and Secretary General, Jan Egeland.
“We found Stine to have the optimal experience, vision and qualifications to lead NORCAP as we grasp opportunities and meet challenges in the years ahead. Her references highlight her strategic thinking, people-focused leadership, curiosity and communication as key strengths”, says Egeland.
Stine has extensive experience from NRC, including positions such as Regional Director, Country Director, Head of Programmes at country level and Institutional Partnerships Director with responsibilities for fundraising and policy development.
