Eviction Trend Analysis

NRC, UN HABITAT and Somalia Protection Cluster|Published 28. Aug 2018|Updated 27. Aug 2018
Evictions in Somalia have risen sharply this year, with more than 204,000 people forced to leave their homes and shelters.

As of 31 July, this total number of evictions in Somalia this year, had already surpassed the total number of evictions for all of 2017. The Norwegian Refugee Council tracks the number of evictions on a monthly basis, by working with the Housing Land Property Sub-Cluster of the Protection Cluster in Somalia. Through this network, a team of paralegals are deployed by NRC to monitor and document eviction incidents across the country, and posted to the Eviction Trend Analysis Dashboard.
