A smarter use of cash

NRC is committed to increase cash based interventions across all of its programmes, as we have seen how they enable crisis-affected people to make choices and prioritise their own needs.  We do however believe the increase in the use of cash based interventions needs to be done in a smart way.  In June 2017, we completed our position paper on cash based interventions “Cash alone is not enough: a smarter use of cash”.  In this paper, we highlight our internal thinking on cash based interventions, how this relates to the wider humanitarian policy on cash and key recommendations for the sector.
