NRC's position paper on cash based interventions

NRC is committed to increase cash based interventions across all of its programmes, as we have seen how they enable crisis-affected people to make choices and prioritise their own needs. We do however believe the increase in the use of cash based interventions needs to be done in a smart way. In June 2017, we completed our position paper on cash based interventions [**“Cash alone is not enough: a smarter use of cash”**](https://www.nrc.no/globalassets/pdf/position-papers/201706_nrc_cash_position_paper_finalv1.0.pdf). In this paper, we highlight our internal thinking on cash based interventions, how this relates to the wider humanitarian policy on cash and key recommendations for the sector.
