“We were sleeping, and then we heard the chaos. I saw that my son had been killed. His wife who was heavily pregnant was also killed."

"This is my grandson; he was sitting beside them crying. I grabbed him and we fled. There was nothing to eat, so I fed him mud. I thought he was going to die, but then we met the Fulani tribe and they gave us milk. I cannot go back to Baga. Our house has been burnt down and there is no peace in the town. My wish is for this boy not to be hungry and not to have any problems. When he grows up, I’ll enrol him in school. That is my pride.”
