NRC’s work worldwide—Representation Offices

Head Office - Oslo

NRC's head office is located in Oslo. From here, we coordinate NRC's activities all over the world. Oslo is also home base for NRC's expert deployment NORCAP, which annually send out hundreds of Norwegian and international experts on missions worldwide for the UN and other organisations.

In addition, head office is responsible for designing our refugee policies, and works on influencing actors on the international level as well as in Norway.

NRC Geneva

Our office in Geneva is a centre of excellence when it comes to providing humanitarian policy and advocacy to the international community. Using their direct operational experience and legal background, our teams work to influence decision-makers in Geneva and New York.

As our main liaison with UN member states and UN agencies, our humanitarian policy team provides advocacy and advice to help operational colleagues provide principled humanitarian action to people in crisis. Read more about our representation office in Geneva.

NRC's Internal Displacement Monitoring Centre (IDMC) is also based in our Geneva office. IDMC is the leading source of information and analysis on internal displacement worldwide.

NRC Europe - Brussels

The EU is the largest donor of humanitarian assistance in the world and is involved in political processes connected with many global humanitarian crises.

Since 2005, our office in Brussels has worked to influence EU institutions and networks based in the Belgian capital to increase our project financing from the EU. Read more about our representation office in Brussels.

NRC Flüchtlingshilfe - Berlin

In 2017, the Norwegian Refugee Council established a German branch, NRC Flüchtlingshilfe.

The NRC Flüchtlingshilfe office has two primary functions: raising money for NRC's overseas programmes that meet the needs of conflict-affected refugees and internally displaced people and providing humanitarian policy advice to the German donors, parliamentary committees, and peer non-governmental organizations. Read more about our office in Berlin.

NRC UK – London

In 2020, the Norwegian Refugee Council established a UK representation office in London.

The NRC UK office has two primary functions: supporting fundraising for NRC’s overseas aid programmes that meet the needs of displaced people; and working with or providing humanitarian policy advice to UK donors, government departments, parliamentary committees, think tanks, universities and peer non-governmental organisations. NRC receives financial support from the UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) as well as private foundations.

NRC’s UK office assists field programmes to apply for critical support. It also hosts technical advisors and other staff who help our teams around the world. NRC’s policy and advocacy work aims to translate and amplify the direct experiences of our humanitarian programmes, partners, and the communities we serve, into practical recommendations to UK leaders to better meet the needs of the world’s displaced people.
