The Norwegian Refugee Council in Sudan is proud to announce the publication of our 2024 report on Housing, Land, and Property (HLP) issues in Sudan.

This comprehensive analysis, funded by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency, dives deep into the urgent HLP challenges Sudan faces amid its ongoing crises.

Our most significant finding reveals the intricate relationship between HLP rights and sustainable peace and recovery, highlighting how unresolved HLP issues exacerbate vulnerabilities and hinder post-conflict rebuilding efforts.

Based on our analysis, we urge the implementation of targeted strategies to ensure the recognition and protection of HLP rights in all phases of crisis management, from emergency response to long-term recovery, including in peace processes. The report calls for concerted action from policymakers, humanitarian organizations, and stakeholders to prioritize HLP issues as a cornerstone of Sudan's path towards stability and resilience.
