Lebanon:
The new center is offering classes of English, computer, music, and tailoring in Sid El Bouchrieh, an area where many Iraqi refugees are settled.
NRC Lebanon has opened its new Iraqi Community Education Center in Beirut on July, 22nd, in the presence of Mr. Martin Yttervik, Chargé d’Affaires at the Norwegian Embassy in Beirut and Mr. Hashem Baher Al Uloum, Political Officer at the Iraqi Embassy in Beirut.
The new center is offering classes of English, computer, music, and tailoring in Sid El Bouchrieh, an area where many Iraqi refugees are settled. One week after its opening, 150 students were already registered. The Center also aims to offer information on services available to Iraqi refugees and awareness sessions on different issues relevant for beneficiaries, as well as a space to meet for young Iraqis who were till now spending their free time in the streets.
