Camp Management training and coaching materials have been developed for a wide range of stakeholders – including camp communities, governments and NGOs/international organisations/UN agencies.
Through Training of Trainers event in 2005, 2006 and 2008, an inter-agency training roster has been established to facilitate the implementation of training, and thereby contribute to the development of competence in camp management, as a recognised, valuable and cross-cutting sector.
Training is given both as a general introduction to key issues in camp management, and in response to conflicts and/or natural disasters. Training materials can be adapted to cover IDP and refugees situations in a camp or camp like setting. Through NRC directly or the global CCCM Cluster, training may be requested and organised as a national, regional or global event. Since 2005, more than 1500 humanitarian personnel, government representatives and camp residents have participated in one of the 65 Camp Management training events that have been organised.
